For the first time in many years, I sang in public again a couple of Sundays ago — something I thought I’d never be able to do again. Here’s a link to the service where everybody in the choir did such a beautiful job.
In 2018, doctors gave me until 2025 (that’s this year!) to live. I had been given a diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension — that’s “high blood pressure in your lungs” and has no cure. Doctors don’t even know what causes it, much less how to cure it.
That news shattered me and I was sure the doctors’ prognosis was the end for me. Fear, uncertainty, and anxiety took over my life. I felt disconnected from everything that once brought me joy — especially my voice. My nervous system was constantly in overdrive, and I could barely think beyond survival.
When my speaking voice started to go downhill along with my lung capacity, I made the decision that I was going to do anything I could to get back to health. So I set off to California to become a certified hypnotist to help myself. Hypnosis helped me find my way back to me. It wasn’t magic, but it was transformational. It gave me clarity, peace, and the tools to reclaim my life.
I know firsthand how overwhelming life can feel when you’re stuck in high-functioning stress, constantly meeting expectations, or carrying the weight of unspoken trauma. That’s why I want to share three ways hypnosis can shift everything — just like it did for me.

Before hypnosis, my thoughts about my health were scattered. I knew I wanted healing, but I didn’t know how to get there and stay there. For years, my nervous system had been in survival mode – I was constantly on high alert, exhausted but unable to truly rest. Most people who interacted with me would even know I was constantly on edge. Hypnosis helped me regulate my stress response, easing me out of fight-or-flight mode so I could breathe again. This deep relaxation became the foundation for my healing.

I tried meditation apps, relaxation videos on YouTube, but they didn’t STICK. I needed something tailored to me. Through personalized hypnosis sessions, I received guidance that was specific to my struggles, helping me break patterns I didn’t even realize were running my life.
